Walter Oehrle was involved with two great advertising campaigns of the twentieth century, for the Union Pacific Railroad promotion of its Yellowstone National Park travel and the Borden Company with Elsie the Cow. The Oehrles were a working-class family in Omaha, Nebraska. Walter’s father, Emmanuel, helped make parts for the Union Pacific Railroad.
